BIOGRAPHY

Jasmine Chavez, is a Chicago native and graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with her BFA in Dance and BS in Psychology. She is an awarded scholar obtaining awards and scholarships such as "Dance Talented Student Award", "Summer Study Award" and other talent based scholarships. She has performed works by Donald Byrd, Rena Butler, Endalyn Taylor, Brandon DiCruscio, Sarah Ford Thompson, Gary Abbot, and many others. Her dance training took place in various programs such as The Chicago High School for the Performing Arts, Ballet Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Dance at Illinois. Jasmine continues to explore the movement language created from improvisational forms of movement.
